Class Overview

Curious about how weather affects the world around us? This course is the perfect place for you! Join us as we explore the world of meteorology! Students will become weather experts by studying weather phenomena, identifying and interpreting various weather patterns, and making connections between climate and geography. Students will have the opportunity to learn through multiple avenues, including reading literature, watching videos, playing games, and creating STEAM projects. This class will encourage students to investigate the world around us, dive deep into research, engage in problem solving, explore new careers, and more!

Alison Prahl

Alison Prahl is so excited for her first year teaching at Summer Academy! Alison has been teaching since 2016 and is currently in her second year of teaching as a ⅚ teacher at Little Canada Elementary School. She has a master’s degree in teaching from Hamline University and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral psychology from UW-Eau Claire. Alison considers herself a lifelong learner and is very passionate about sharing her love of learning with students. She is especially motivated to find hands-on and novel experiences to spark curiosity and engagement for students! In her free time, Alison enjoys reading, spending time with her dog, and fitness through circus arts.
