The Art of MathematicsClass # 36 Grades: 4- 5- 6
Do you love to create your own designs? Do you love math? In this NEW class, curious students will independently and collaboratively explore, create, and investigate the many ways art and mathematics come together in our world. Who was this Euclid guy? What’s a Platonic solid? What in the world does that have to do with art? All of these questions and more will be answered as you will create tessellating designs, origami boxes, and design your own math/art book: all to take home! You will take field trips to the sculpture garden at the Walker Art Center and the Center for Book Arts to explore how artists use mathematics to create their work.
