Be warned, this is not your traditional math class. Here you will collaborate with fellow mathematicians to discover multiple solutions to challenging mathematical tasks. Each day your brain will be engaged in math in unique and creative ways. Experience the excitement mathematicians feel as they collaborate to answer questions and discover new things. Experience an intriguing world of mathematics, free from formulas, lectures, and basic calculations. Instead, learn to ask questions and go deeper as you develop and refine your reasoning skills and look at math in new and creative ways. Ponder, test, and justify your solutions with other teams as you learn to confidently state your mathematical conjectures. Christine Carlson-Kelm received her BA degree in Science and Mathematics for Elementary Education from the University of St. Thomas and her Master’s degree from Winona State University. During her 21 years of teaching in the Mahtomedi School District, Mrs. Carlson-Kelm has taught middle school math and science, served as the intermediate math specialist, taught second grade and served for four years as an instructional coach.
